What You Need to Know When Choosing Air Cargo Services

Ground support equipment is the support equipment basically found at the airport. This is used to service aircraft between flight. As the name shows, Ground Support Equipment is used to support the operations of aircraft on the ground. The function of this equipment includes ground power operations, aircraft mobility as well as loading operations. Aircraft ground support equipment includes a wide range of vehicles and equipment essential to service aircraft during passenger and cargo loading and unloading.

Aircraft cargo loaders are used to load and unload aircraft, and transfer cargo, baggage and passenger from airport building to aircraft. An aircraft loader accomplishes many tasks such as receive bags from check-in desk and drive them between aircraft and airport building, load and unload cargo onto or off aircraft. Cargo loader is a vehicle that is able to load cargo and baggages from an aircraft parked on the ground. They are also know as k-loader and container loader. These loaders have two plataforms which raise and go down separately. The cargos are moved with the help of built-in wheels on the loader.

There are different types of aircraft cargo loaders available like 3.5T, 7T, 14T, and 30T. 7T is the standard version of the loader. There are special type of cargo loaders used for military transport. Basically cargo loaders are manufactured in the France, Germany, Spain, Canada, Japan, Brazil, China and the United States. There are special types of airborne loaders used in military transport which are able to transport plane itself. Transporters are also used to load and unload cargos, but they are not used in the US.

So, these are the ground support equipment used to offer air cargo services to load and unload containers and the other heavy equipment between the airport terminal and aircraft.
